Consulting Services
Sustainble Harvest offers the following consulting services:
Carbon & Ecological Footprint analysis
Sustainable Harvest will calculate the complete range of carbon emissions associated with your company's business activities and the impact this has on natural ecology. This is a rigorous scientific analysis designed to capture the wider effects that business has on the natural environment. We use the method developed by Sydney Universities, Integrated Sustainability Analysis and the software Bottom Line 3.
Triple Bottom Line Analysis
Measurement of your company or projects performance in the economic, social, and environmental context. This involves analysing the impact that all the products and services which have been consumed by your business have on the environment through all stages of the economy. This is the most accurate and cost effective method to determine the life cycle that all the business transactions undertaken by your business have on the triple bottom line. We use the method developed by Sydney Universities Integrated Sustainability Analysis and the software Bottom Line 3.
Environmental Sustainability Assessment (ESA)
Onsite analysis of systems and processes which contribute to the company's environmental performance. This is appropriate to analyse equipment and record essential data for your company's carbon management strategy.
GreenStar Rating
Green Star is a comprehensive, national, voluntary environmental rating scheme that evaluates the environmental design and achievements of buildings.
Green Star was developed for the property industry in order to:
- Establish a common language;
- Set a standard of measurement for green buildings;
- Promote integrated, whole-building design;
- Recognise environmental leadership;
- Identify building life-cycle impacts; and
- Raise awareness of green building benefits.
AGBR Rating
The Australian Building Greenhouse Rating scheme assists office building owners and tenants to reduce energy use, reduce energy costs and reduce greenhouse emissions. ABGR was developed and is managed by Government, is endorsed by the Property Council of Australia and supported by other major Industry associations and property owners. Use the links above to find out more about ABGR.
Recognised as an industry standard, the ABGR scheme has now been incorporated into the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS OFFICE), a performance-based rating system that measures an existing building's overall environmental performance during operation.
NABERS Rating
NABERS OFFICE ratings are based on actual data related to the performance of your premises over the last 12 months. To make this real-life performance data comparable with other sites, certain adjustments are made to take into account the specific nature of your site to make the comparisons relevant and realistic. The adjusted data is then compared to our benchmark data, and a rating score reflecting your performance relative to your peers is calculated.
ABSA Rating
The Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA) represents building and design professionals who specialise in assessing the environmental impact of buildings.
ABSA Accredited Assessors use sophisticated computer programs to analyse your building plans and can offer practical advice on cost-effective ways to improve its performance.
BASIX Rating
Introduced by the NSW Government, BASIX, the Building Sustainability Index, ensures homes are designed to use less potable water and be responsible for fewer greenhouse gas emissions by setting energy and water reduction targets for house and units. BASIX is one of the most robust sustainable planning measures in Australia, delivering equitable and effective water and greenhouse gas reductions across NSW.
Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)
Life-cycle assessment is a 'cradle to grave' approach for assessing industrial systems. This involves including impacts throughout the product life cycle, thus LCA provides a comprehensive view of the environmental aspects of the product or process and a more accurate picture of the true environmental trade-offs.
Sustainable Harvest uses a LCA calculation method developed by the Integrated Sustainability Analysis (ISA) team at Sydney University.
ISO 14000 Environmental Management System
The ISO 14000 series, currently being developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), is a collection of voluntary standards that assists organisations to achieve environmental and financial gains through the implementation of effective environmental management. The standards provide both a model for streamlining environmental management, and guidelines to ensure environmental issues are considered within decision making practices.
ISO 14001 is the standard for Environment Management Systems. Many large businesses, particularly overseas, have obtained certification under the standard.
Sustainable Harvest will assist your company to conform to the requirements expected under the ISO 14000 series.
